Using my understanding of adult learning principles, I design online courses that help adult learners meet their educational and career goals. Check out examples of these online courses, as well as course planning tools I've utilized, below.

teachU Texas for Program Advisors

Online Course

Project Description: This online course was designed to train newly hired "Program Advisors" for their new role in the fictional Texas teacher certification program called "teachU". This example let's you view the first module of the course: Getting Started: Application and Admissions. The course includes downloadable resources, interactive learning activities, an online discussion board, and an authentic assessment to assess if learning objectives were met.

Tools Used: Canvas LMS, Articulate Storyline, Canva

Due to Instructure's recent discontinuation of the Free-For-Teachers Platform, this demo course is no longer available.

Course Planning Tool

Project Description: In the beginning of creating the teachU Texas for Program Advisors training course (see above!), I mapped out different aspects of the course using the document to the right. This covers a learner summary, course objectives, assessment ideas, learning resources, and more foundational ideas to the course as a whole. This document also provided an opportunity to ensure that the course was aligned across these different aspects - an important step to ensure that all that you're including in your course is necessary.

Course Planning Tool

Project Description: In the design phase of creating an online course, designers must determine which course delivery tool they will be using to create the course itself. Using the Course Delivery Decision Matrix, I define various criteria, assigned them a significance rating, and explored rationale. Using this tool, I am able to determine the best course delivery tool for the project at hand.
